Hall Contracting of Kentucky, Inc. has been in business since 1954, providing construction services in the areas of heavy construction, electrical, commercial, civil, pipeline, highway and bridge work. We have since grown into one of the most respected contractors in the Southeast and Midwest.
In 2003 we purchased 100% of the company stock through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). We are proud to be an Employee Owned Company.

Hall Contracting Of Kentucky, Inc, is a long a supporter of the merit shop concept. At Hall, we are able to provide clients with flexibility and management control of resources that assure on-time completion of projects, large and small, within budget restrictions. Hall thrives on the difficult industrial, bridge, pipeline or highway projects.
The History Of Hall Contracting
In 1954, Mr. Kenneth Hall bought his first trencher and started digging trenches for the Louisville Gas & Electric Company. Hall Contracting officially became an established business. Hall Contracting grew rapidly expanding into other areas of work including pipe installation, concrete foundations, cross country pipelines, and infrastructure work. With work from clients all over the southeast US, a second regional office in Charlotte, North Carolina opened in 1982. Hall Contracting later expanded with additional offices in Florida and Tennessee. This small company that started with one trencher in 1954 had grown into a bigger company with multiple offices in several areas of Kentucky, as well as Southern Indiana.
In 2000 (with Mr. Hall’s son, Mike Jr., firmly planted in Charlotte) the Hall Contracting operation in Louisville was split from the rest of the company and renamed Hall Contracting of Kentucky. Mike Jr. ran Hall Contracting Corporation based in Charlotte. However, Mr. Hall had all his ownership in Louisville. In 2002, the Board of Directors of Hall Contracting of Kentucky adopted the Employee Ownership Stock Plan (ESOP) to purchase all of Mr. Hall’s stock. In January 2003, Hall Contracting of Kentucky purchased 100% of the company stock with a 10-year loan at National City Bank. The shares of Hall Contracting of Kentucky stock are distributed yearly to all of its employees through the ESOP Trust.
Mr. Hall taught us all about honesty, safety, hard work and caring for others. Our first client in 1954, Louisville Gas & Electric Company, even today remains one of our top five clients. Today we are proudly a 100% employee owned company.
